US President Donald Trump harshly criticized on Wednesday the US media coverage of his alleged second meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hamburg.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, the Hill newspaper reported that the two leaders had a second, undisclosed meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Summit. The meeting took place during the G20 heads of state dinner and lasted for roughly an hour, Ian Bremmer, the president of the international consulting firm Eurasia Group, told the newspaper.
"Fake News story of secret dinner with Putin is "sick." All G 20 leaders, and spouses, were invited by the Chancellor of Germany. Press knew!… The Fake News is becoming more and more dishonest! Even a dinner arranged for top 20 leaders in Germany is made to look sinister!" Trump posted on Twitter.

The same day, a White House official refuted the claims, saying that Trump and Putin did not have a second meeting in Hamburg, but had a brief conversation at the end of a formal dinner. The official called the insinuation that the White House hiding the second meeting "false, malicious and absurd."
Since Trump assumed the office, US media have accused the US president's team of having ties to the Kremlin. The US president has refuted these allegations and labeled the media involved in these speculations as "fake news."
